Enter a number in international format, or a national number plus a two-letter country. This page checks the format and the country only. It does not look up the carrier or the line type, and it does not put the number in the URL.

A national number without a country is not an E.164 number.
A digit short of valid still looks fine in a spreadsheet.
Format does not tell you whether the line is mobile, VoIP, or a landline.

Questions

Does this return the carrier?

No. Carrier name and line type are POST /verify/phone at $0.02. This page only returns validity, E.164, and country.

When do I need a country?

When the number does not already start with +. The country is the two-letter ISO code, such as US.

Is the number stored?

No. It is not written to logs and it is not placed in the URL.
